Purchase Orders are received using an online system. They are entered into Baan as Sales Orders and then Sales Acknowledgements are e-mailed or faxed to customers using Baan Mail Merge. We use Internet Faxing integrated with Baan Mail Merge to fax to customers and at the same time e-mail copies to our sales representatives. The Baan Mail-Merge system is also used for sending Sales Quotations and Purchase Orders. Our users find Baan Mail Merge to be fast, effective and easy to use. We also found Internet-faxing to be an economical alternative to in-house fax servers. It is definitely faster when dealing with the volume of documents we have.

Since about one year we are using now the Software B2Win from NAZDAQ. The software solves one of our big problems to export Baan Reports in an acceptable format to Microsoft Products. We use it mainly for Excel and Winword but with further options to export to Acrobat Reader or HTML. Also, the integration of graphic files to the reports is possible in an easy way.

I have installed B2Win and B2Email for more than one company in our group. The documentation is very easy to understand and the installation process is easy as well. The NAZDAQ team has done their utmost to help us with any of our questions or concerns. They were also willing to work with us to make the software more ‘non-generic’ and meet the customer’s specific needs.

In Baan implementations, one of the most time consuming part is standardization and configuration of reports. Users normally want a lot of flexibility in reporting with graphical presentations. A number of times, the report structures would depend upon specific factors such as market rejects, new product introductions in specific markets etc. Configuring these reports and exporting them to Spreadsheet applications can be quite a task for the IT department. Also, building analysis tools within Baan itself would entail customizations which can be avoided by doing these in Spreadsheets. B2Win product finds a great use in this regards, in that it takes out the “IT Part” in reporting and allows users themselves to directly configure the reports. The software is quite simple yet rich in functionality. One can also look at uses in terms of using Baan reports in documents, i.e. exporting reports to Word and configuring them to look more professional.

NAZDAQ’s add-on utilities for Baan have proved to be indispensable software tools at Grindmaster, used extensively by all of our departments for automating information flow to front office applications, empowering us to do more with less by letting us focus on our primary business tasks. While this has unquestionably enhanced our productivity and efficiency, I particularly cherish the fact that the fewer the paper you print as a consequence of using the NAZDAQ Baan 2 tools, the less trees you will be chopping down, which is great news for the planet!

NAZDAQ have been producing useful tools at value for money prices for 10 years and we are glad they are around to help us get the most out of our systems. They are a very responsive business and support their customers with their in-depth knowledge.

We have had requests and inquiries, over the past couple of years, for the capability to e-mail reports directly out of Baan. This year we found the B2Email product from NAZADQ and it satisfied our needs. Installation was simple and the product support was good. Our initial searches found products too costly but NAZDAQ fit into our budget. By automating the distribution of just one report, B2Email will pay for itself in less than a year.

We implemented Baan IVc3 in 1999 and learned of NAZDAQ’s products while attending a Baan conference in Dallas. Upon our return, we evaluated then purchased B2Win in 2001. We had a simple need to send Baan data to Excel and B2Win worked very well. When we heard that another NAZDAQ product would allow us to e-mail reports, like PO’s, we had to evaluate it. We bought B2Email Plus in 2002 and later Baan Mail Merge. These products increased our efficiency, were simple to use and were priced just right for a company our size. In 2010 we will upgrade our Baan IVc4 environment to ERP LN and our NAZDAQ’s products will make that transition with us.

Shortly after implementation of Baan in 2000, we were delighted by Baan to Windows, Adobe and Mail Packages.
